Web Romance?

“I have been chatting with this great guy for almost two months and we talk over the net everyday. He tells me he’s fallen in love with me and I fell for that. The problem is that we’re far away from each other… different countries but we have the same nationality. I know it’s quite impossible for our relationship to work but I’m hoping that it could.

But there are times that I just feel like he’s not real or whatever he’s telling me is not real…there are intances wherein he would tell me that he’s chatting with other girls and he would even call them because they are in the same area. I feel so jealous but I know that I shouldn’t be.

Should I believe him? Should I go on with this relationship although it’s quite impossible bec. of our distance?” — Angie
……………………………………..

Angie, you don’t know whether this person is really who he says he is. He could be a group of teens having fun, a retiree with too much time on his hands, a man in prison, or even a woman having fun. That’s the downside of thinking you’ve met your “soul mate” through the Web.

Yes, there are some great love affairs that happen through the Web but with the distance between you and the fact you’ve never met, and you’re not really sure if he’s “real”, this may not be one of them.

It’s better to cool down the fantasy that he’s the perfect one for you and stick with people closer to where you live so that you can put a real face with the person you’re corresponding with. Just my opinion. — Queenie
