Stay or Go?

What if in the middle of their 10 years of marriage, one of them wants to end up their relationship. Should they wait to finish the said contract?

Generally, “said contract,” if you’re referring to the marriage vows, are “until death do us part.” Is that what you mean by “wait to finish” the marriage?

In my opinion, if one person in a marriage wants out, it is better to divorce — after all options (such as marriage counseling, etc.) have been tried — than stay in the marriage. The person who wants out will find a way to break the vows one way or another. Might as well do it legally and let the other person get on with their life.

Just my opinion, of course. Many people would disagree and say that the vows should be upheld no matter what the circumstances. ~ Queenie
