I am a recently married young woman (21) to a man (28) I love very much. Things have been a little difficult lately as we are trying to get on our feet financially. Neither of us are working steady jobs but money is okay.
Last week I discovered a porn magazine in our room. Now if this magazine had been Playboy it would have been a different story. The first words I read on the cover were ‘Young Wild Virgins Gone Wild’ upon further investigation in the stack of supposed fishing magazines I found another one. I only saw the name of the magazine as ‘Barely Legal’ I was mortified and so disgusted I shoved it back in the pile.
Upon speaking to my husband about these magazines I made clear to him that they were not appropriate material and I never wanted to see them again. He retorted with he felt I was making him out to be a pig and an dirty old man. To me right now he seems like a dirty old man and I am revolted by the thought of any of this, I wish I’d never found them but I can’t change that.
Now I am doubting my marriage did he marry me because I fulfill some strange fantasy for him? Is he some strange pervert or is he just a normal male? Please send some advice I have no one to ask or even relate to as none of my friends are married. — Anna

Anna, while he may have been looking at very sexually oriented magazines he wasn’t doing anything illegal or immoral. He wasn’t ready child porn he was reading magazines featuring young women of legal age. Would it have made you happier if he would have been reading magazines featuring older women? Highly unlikely in our youth oriented society and then if he was, you would probably have more reason for concern.
He sounds like a normal male. He likes to look. He deserves to have that right. If he touches, then you have the right to chastise him. Just my thoughts, of course. — Queenie
