I have been dating my boyfriend for about 6 months and I have realized that over these months it is like he does not want to spend any time with me. I almost feel that he goes out of his way not to spend any time with me.
His friends on the other hand, he will do anything or go anywhere to spend time with them including driving 5 hours out of town. With me it is different, he always has something to do or either he is tired and just wants to rest.
I am finally getting fed up with it because for the up coming holidays he is talking about going to Pennsylvania and then going to go see his other friend in northern Virginia and that practically leaves no time for us to spend together for the holidays.
I have mentioned this to him before and he tries to spend time with me for like a week or 2, but after that its back to his old ways. I have no clue how to get it in his head that I would love to spend more time with him, I have told him on several different occasions and that’s not working, so I needed some advice on what to do. Is there any other way I could go about this? Thanks. — Glorie

Glorie, he’s not into this relationship on the same level you are or you wouldn’t be trying to force him to do something he apparently doesn’t want to do — spend more time with you. I really don’t understand why he isn’t including you into his plans with his friends and family.
He doesn’t seem to be making you his number one priority. If you’re supposed to be in an exclusive dating relationship then you’re spending a lot of time alone that you should be spending with him. Perhaps he has a different view of the relationship; maybe it isn’t that important or exclusive for him.
It’s time for a serious discussion of what each of you wants out of this relationship. If you can come to an agreement that satisfactorily meets both of your needs then I’d think maybe this has a chance. Otherwise, you need to tell him ‘goodbye’ and get back out into the dating pool and find yourself a guy who will make you his top priority. — Queenie
