Dear Queenie, I have been seperated from my fiancee for 6 months and we have a 4 yr old son. I want her to have councilling with me but she is happy with her new life without me. I know she still has strong feelings for me and we had a reasonable 7.5 years together. What should I do to persuade her to at least try?
…………………………………
After over 7 years together and a 4-year old child, something made her want to leave. What happened? No one walks away from a happy relationship.
If she still loves you there’s always a chance she’ll come back and that’s the point that counseling might help redefine your relationship into a stronger, more solid, one. You can’t, however, force her to return if she doesn’t want to.
My suggestion? Back away, work on developing a life without her at its center. Concentrate on your son but don’t use him as a bargaining chip to keep yourself in her life.
Some relationships aren’t meant to last forever. People change, their wants and needs change. It hurts when relationships end but it doesn’t mean that there isn’t someone else who would make you even happier. — Queenie
