Will A Cheater Always Cheat?

Do you think men that cheat will always cheat?? I recently have broken up with my boyfriend of three years because of this. I had suspected it once but gave him the benefit of the doubt, but the second time I was told about him he did admit to cheating.

It has only been a week so I am still a little sad/angry. I am sure that it is the best decision, but part of me wants him to go through his life still making the same mistakes and never changing.

Do you think that he would ever change? I guess it sounds cynical to say that I would want other women to be hurt by such a jerk, but it is really him that I would like to experience the “hurt” of more failed relationships. — Caroline
…………………………………….

Caroline, you’re hurt and angry about his betrayal. You want him to hurt as much as you do, and you want to know how much betrayal hurts by experiencing it himself. That’s pretty normal in this type of circumstance. However, the longer you dwell on a guy who disrespects you the way he has, the more time you’ll be wasting on someone who really isn’t worth giving up your time to.

When you’ve been in a relationship for three years, it will take more than a week to work through the bitterness. But that is your most important mission right now.

Does a cheater ever change? Hard to say. Sometimes a dog is just a dog, you know? And no matter how much he may try to be a cat, he’ll still be just a dog. — Queenie
