I am very concerned about my daughter who’s 17 and been dating a 19 years old boy for over a year now. He’s been always sweet and polite with everyone, till recently, when he got very possesive of my daughter.
He tells everyone to leave her alone, or else he’ll KILL them, he wrote emails to all her friends and websites containing violent words towards anyone who’d try to contact her. She tried to break up with him, but he threatens her constantly. She’s not even allowed to talk on the phone, not even with me, her mom!
Please, please help, I am really scared for her and I don’t know what got into him, I mean, not that she’s my daughter, but she really is a good girl and she is really scared. Please help! Thank you. — Worried Mom

Hi Mom, I’m wondering if his new possessiveness means they have recently begun being intimate. Whatever the reason for it, it definitely sounds dangerous and unhealthy. I think you need to get a professional opinion as to how to handle this, and maybe get some counseling for her so that she can learn to lead her own life and not be ruled by him. — Queenie
