My boyfriend and i live together and he recently went to jail. While he was in there i went snooping through his stuff and found many incriminating pictures of him and his ex girlfriend. He didn’t know how to explain them. He was upset because i went through his stuff, but i need a good reason why he has these pics and why he brought them into our house.
He said that he was just holding on to something but he was glad i found them and he feels like a burden was lifted off his chest. I dont know how to react to this. He says he loves me more than anything and wants to marry me but i just can’t seem to get the pictures out of my head…HELP — Noelle

Noelle, if you snoop into another person’s private stuff you have to accept the consequences of anything you find. He has no reason to apologize for keeping these pictures. He didn’t have them out in the open, he had them packed away supposedly in a safe place from prying eyes.
He’s entitled to have things of his own that no one else has access to. Just as you are. If he had these photos tacked to his wall, in a picture frame on a shelf, or if he was carrying one in his wallet then there’s a problem. Otherwise, you were out of line and you owe HIM an apology.
